Before you start
After installation, after a large catalog change, or when the catalog status is Outdated.
- Syncing and Importing are different stages. Shopify finishing its scan does not mean Rankora has finished importing.
- Product counts and image counts are different. One product can contain several images.
- Use the latest completed catalog data when deciding what to optimize.
Steps to follow
- Open Home or Products and find the catalog scan or sync action.
- Start one scan. Watch Catalog status rather than starting another scan immediately.
- Allow the Shopify scan and the Rankora import to finish. If a paused or failed state offers a resume action, use that action.
- When the catalog is ready, open SEO Opportunities or the content workspace you need.
For example
A store with 500 products may have 2,000 images. An image count of 2,000 is not a product sync error.
What happens next
Rankora updates its catalog and coverage information. It has not generated new content or changed a Shopify field.
A useful tip. After a large import, let the current scan finish before judging missing-content counts.
Take care. Do not keep restarting a scan because it shows 0 or Importing. Check its current state first.
Common questions
Why does it say Importing after Shopify finished?
Shopify's scan and the import into Rankora are separate stages. Content lists can still be updating during the import.
Must I scan after every small edit?
Not necessarily. Refresh the relevant workspace first. A full scan is useful after significant changes or when the catalog is outdated.
Can I close the page during a scan?
Follow the instruction shown for that operation. A queued generation job and a catalog sync are different processes; do not assume they have the same browser requirements.
If you are still stuck
- If the status stays unchanged, use the scan troubleshooting guide. Keep the status, time and visible error for support.
